It's Game of the Year Season....

The clock has officially struck November and that means that as a society we're in a mad-dash countdown to the end of the year, but perhaps the most IMPORTANT countdown is, of course, the Sockscast Game of the Year podcasts! And as always, it's a huge and really big deal for us to hear from as many of you as we can get about YOUR favorite games of the year that just flew by!
It's very easy to do, the rules are the same as always!
1. Pick yourself three games you liked this year. They don't have to have been released this year! If you played it this year and enjoyed it then it's fair game. On your list it goes!
2. Write a small blurb about each game. One or two sentences should suffice, but give us some words to go along with each game! We don't mind reading full paragraphs, but please be kind.
3. Email your submission to podcast [at-sign] socksmakepeoplesexy.net BY THE END OF DECEMBER 16TH. We'll be recording the Game of the Year episodes on the evening of December 17th, so this is pretty easy to understand. You might have a few hours of leeway, but don't take your chances!
4. For those of you who would like to read your own lists the same rules as above apply. Three games, three blurbs, read it out, sing it out, whatever you wanna do however you want! Create an .mp3 file, attach it to your email and just send it to the above email address.
It's all THAT easy! So, now's the time to get the ol thinker revved up and thinking about the experiences that have meant the most to you over the last three-sixty-five! We look forward to reading and hearing your submissions!

In light of it having been almost half a year since the Sockscast has been regularly active, I've decided to go ahead and do an audio version explaining the lack of shows this year. At 17 minutes, I guess it's a bit long-winded, but I really feel I needed that time to get everything across, so I hope that if you listen you understand my position.
I also hope that if you've only engaged with SMPS via the Sockscast that you join our Discord community. It's a welcoming and warm place where I know you'll find yourself a little place to fit in.
Thanks so much for the support over the last eight years of podcasting, and I hope we can re-convene in a similar fashion sometime in the future. Until then, let's all be cool to one another.

It's a cute physics-based platform puzzler where you...well...have to bounce, and control the height and velocity of your bounciness to succeed! It's a little like Gimmick! but...bouncier!

SynchroniZ Version 2.0 Released!

I just released a pretty substantial update to SynchroniZ, my mind-bendy arcade collect-a-thon! With this update, I feel the game is the absolute best version of the game it could be!
The new update features an entirely reworked difficulty curve, hitboxes that are much more generous, and some stages have been completely replaced with new ones or had their layouts changed to smooth the overall flow of things out a bit. Those are the key changes to the game that I believe make it a much more approachable experience.
So, if you gave the game a shot in its original form and didn't quite vibe with it, I hope you try the new version. It's tested pretty well with people who maybe weren't so high on the game the first time. And if you've never played it before and check it out, I hope you have a great time!

Sockscast Hiatus, RSS, and SMPS Discord Stuff

Hey, friendos! Hope the new year has treated you well. Just wanted to drop a quick message on the mainpage in case not everybody out there listened to the Game of the Year podcasts till the end.
As of the GotY recordings, we've put The Sockscast on hiatus for a bit. I don't really have a return date in mind yet. It's mostly that I'm just burnt out on podcasting right now and need some time away from it. It'll return, and I'll announce here when we're ready to, but for now, unless something special comes up, there won't be any new podcast releases for a while.
Also, over the holidays, our RSS feed for podcasts went down. We've gotten it back up and functional on everything, save for Spotify. You can access the feed directly from this link in the meantime and we'll have a new SMPS-based solution in the future. It's being worked on.
Finally, since we're gonna not be podcasting for a while, if you'd like to stay in touch with us, hop on over to the Socksmakepeoplesexy Discord if you haven't already, which has been a cozy and thriving community for a good number of years now.
