What are some non-media things in life that bring y'all joy?
Two big ones for me: soaking in hot candle-lit bubble baths, and taking walks in the park near me on nice days. I spend so much time online or around people or consuming art; it's nice to have pleasant little sections of my day where I'm actually alone with my thoughts.

I like black-berry flavored soft drinks and when my cat watches anime, I think he likes it more than I do.

Cantaloupe Cantaloupe is something that'll put me in a pretty good mood no matter what, even if it's only for a short time. Something about it, especially chilled, is immediately refreshing, physically and mentally.

The smell of perfect evening air (specifically evenings that remind me of evenings in Japan), particularly when I've been indoors for a long time and then step outside for the first time. I don't think anything else puts a better "congratulations, you did a good job today" confirmation stamp on my day.

The smell of the ocean wind at the beach. Barring that, any quiet place with a nice body of water and a good view.

Whether through a window or when I step outside, the first minute or so of feeling warm sunlight on my skin after being in a cold, highly air conditioned indoor space. The feeling is akin to a nice, hot shower.
Also, the facial numbness I get from eating a lot of really spicy ramen, or having a good cry, or from a good deep breathing exercise.

These are all so lovely ;_; The "crisp evening air after a long day's work" and "warm sunlight after being inside" especially resonate with me. The park I walk in is also by Lake Michigan and I loooooove having that view, and eating good fruit always makes me happy 'cause you can't just keep it around the house all the time, even if you buy it every week it's special.

Taking walks while analysing the wild plants by the wayside. Looking after plants I'm growing. It got me through the summer.
Sitting staring at the river is nice, the few times it happens.

I hadn't thought of pancakes as edible hugs until now, but given how fluffy, warm, and light they are it makes 100% sense and now I'll never not think it when I make them. xD

I'm more of a waffle stan, but it cannot be understated how comforting the mouth feel of a warm pancake is.

I've eaten two boiled eggs with Lawry's seasoning every weekday morning for a couple years now, and it's just the best thing. I'm never grouchy before lunch, and they're legit delicious. Especially in the last year, since I've learned how to get that nice orange yolk instead of the chalky yellow one you get when you boil it too long.

The complicated instructions for achieving this are "Boil for fewer minutes." xP

I've been watching a channel on YouTube called Adventure Archives lately. They post videos of their hiking trips and nature experieces around the world and it has been a very very welcome break from the gaming side of things. I would highly suggest checking them out if you need a nature fix. Their videos are very laid back and chill. I've been leaving up their videos I've already seen in the background for extra noise to help me sleep at night.
