We finally managed to trick Ashley into joining in on our dumb podcast shenanigans for our final episode of the year before Game of the Year stuff kicks off, and this three and a half hour thing is the result. As the year winds down it finds John having his mind blown for five hours straight by Virtue's Last Reward's True Ending and sharing some pretty popular opinions about Super Mario World, Ashley's been in the world of Nep-Neps and fighting off zombie hordes and finishing Tales of Xillia 2, Rhete's been slaying mighty foes with just his bow and dealing with his own zombie outbreak, and Polly has been reading only memories.

|
We got a nice chill of a Sockscast ready for you this week as we check in on John and his insatiable need to kick and punch people, Rhete's inability to play anything other than JRPGs, and Polly stumbling onto a game that ended up being quite a neat little surprise!

The Sockscast enters a brave new post-Bob Ross Marathon world and comes out swinging hard with John continuing his fascination with the Souls games, Rhete recounting his hilariously Japanese Cartoon adventures in Phantasy Star Online 2, and Polly being summoned back to Gamindustri once again to Nep-Nep as hard as she can. All that and a huge bag of news and listener questions that are sure to delight!

The Album Listening Club returns as we take a deep dive into Taylor's suggested listening material, the indie noise pop collective Deerhunter's Halcyon Digest. Upon its 2010 release, the album was met with consistently high critical praise, but does it have the same appeal for the listening club? Find out and enjoy some relaxing and somber tunes while you're at it!

Longtime SnS/8EasyBits Community member Peaches strolls into town this episode to give us the lowdown on tabletop gaming, getting lost in transit, and ignites a fiery Undertale discussion. After the fires calm, Polly gets in on this whole making Marios thing, Rhete busts out the finest selection in his wardrobe and clues us in on the mysterious connection between Undertale and BroForce, and John plays all the cool Wii U games and Demon's Souls. Also, Undertale...Probably.
|
|
|
This is most definitely the episode of the Sockscast you'll wanna tune in for if you wanna hear all about how Polly's down with the clown, hear Rhete talk more about Phantasy Star Online 2 but then totally redeem himself by bringing up Saints Row 4, and John having an opinion or two about a little game you've probably never heard anybody talk about called Undertale.

The Sockscast gets off to a roaring start this episode diving into Rhete's latest masterpiece, Polly Clicker! You should all go play that now! After that, Polly put the finishing touches on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and has lots of opinions about it, Rhete turned into a big dumb and started playing Phantasy Star Online 2 again, and John and Anna just can't get enough Mario in their lives! All that and Shovel Knight makes a glorious return to the podcast! What more could you ask for?

Bpwner, Byron Hulcher, Taylor, and Polly launch an all-new music-focused podcast! The idea began originally as a forum topic, but now it's here and even better in podcast form. The idea is that someone in the group or the community suggest an album for the hosts to listen to over the course of an undetermined number of weeks and then they get together to discuss the album in-depth with some short clips from each track to give the discussion context. This first episode focuses on alternative hip-hopper Busdriver's 2014 project Perfect Hair. We hope you enjoy listening and please feel free to offer feedback and suggestions at the SnS Forum!

Join us we dig into some MMO trends and banter with our good friend Mike (who is totally present for this episode!), John goes on a gluttonous media consuming frenzy, Rhete gets artsy fartsy and then decides to get all funky with his bad self...IN SPACE, and Polly puts a stop to yet another alien invasion (but not before curling into a fetal ball from the stress) and then comes to understand the true cost of war.

April showers may bring May flowers, but February Wieners bring March FreezingInfernos! That makes no sense at all, but it's at least cool knowing that The Internet's FreezingInferno joins the Sockscast this episode to discuss his love of cartoons, platformers, and says a word heinous enough to become the first person ever bleeped on a Sockscast. Meanwhile, Polly is floating through space as a gravity ghost, Rhete is using his slow-mo vision to ogle boobies, and John spirals further into the madness that is the SaGa series.

|
This episode of the Sockscast marks the Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net/Sockscast debut of good pal and all around fun twitch.tv streamer, Erik of EriksJoystick! He joins us to discuss some StarBound and Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate among other things as Polly and Rhete take a trip to a magical land with the recent release of Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 to put a decisive end to the console wars and finally, John's still on a personal crusade to become a magical girl and a frog!

And so, The Powers That B said, "Let there be Sockscast," and all was good in the land! Of course, we obviously mean "The Powers That Bpwner," since he's gracing our podcast with his ever-so-lovely presence and sharing his love of Dark Souls and cats fishing...or fisting...we're not sure. Meanwhile, Rhete, Polly, and John demonstrate the virtues of having your own videogame-related podcast by not talking about videogames much at all and instead focus on cartoons, music, and other weird obsessions truly befitting a podcast about videogames! And don't forget to tune in next week for a big ol' The Last of Us Spoilercast!

The Sockscast train pulls into the station an eensy-weensy little bit late this week due to illness, but try as it might, illness has no concrete way of stopping the maximum amount of yappage coming from the only sorta-videogame podcast that matters! This episode Polly's headin' on down to South Park to have herself a time, John's finally achieved his dream of becoming a magical girl, and Rhete's still...doing...lots of stuff!
