And here we are! The final Sockscast of 2014! The Game of the Year festivities come to their logical conclusion today with Polly, Rhete, and John counting down the top 5 games they played this year, pointing out a little disappointment here and there, going over the last haul of reader lists, and hopefully spreading some generally good feelings all around!

We'd like to thank everyone who submitted a user list and especially those that have supported this silly little podcast idea and listened while we got it off the ground this year. I know I speak for both John and Rhete when I say that we can't wait to get back at it in 2015, but for now, we'll catch you folks on the other side!

For those who aren't quite into the podcast thing, the site-based versions of our Game of the Year lists will be up sometime before the end of the year. Until then, happy holidays, folks!

Otherwise known as "The Accidental 3D Sonic Games Discussion Episode," as John spent the last few weeks blazing through Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Rhete painted the world of Sonic Colors, and Polly...just wants to argue with John about this whole thing! After all the Sonic talk we find time to discuss other fun games like Freedom Planet, Cloudbuilt, FarCry 2, and Monument Valley!

Finally, this is the last call if you want to take part in our Game of the Year podcast! Sockscast 7.2 Delay And Our Schedule For The Rest of 2014
November 24th, 2014

Hey there, Sockscateers! Apologies for the lack of our promised Episode 7.2 this week. Due to many technical difficulties and a lot of crazy scheduling issues, we're gonna circle back around and pick up this episode in January. The internet and Skype weren't playing very nice with us when we decided to record this episode, and rather than release what we have right now, I'd rather hold off until we can finish our Metal Gear Solid discussion and present the whole thing to you all at once. So, hey, bonus episode in January!

Your regularly scheduled Sockscast episodes will return December 7th after everything from Thanksgiving and our dear friend John's wedding has calmed down, so you know that's bound to be an interesting and fun episode!

On December 19th, we'll likely be recording our Game of the Year episode(s), and as I mentioned in the previous update, you can be a part of this little celebration. Just send a list of your top three games of 2014 (whether they were released in 2014 or not) and say a little bit about each one to podcast@socksmakepeoplesexy.net and we'll read 'em on the air! The deadline to have your list read on the podcast is December 18th!

If everything goes smoothly, I'll begin posting our Game of the Year podcast on December 21st (and continuing to the 22nd if we need more than one episode to knock the whole thing out.) Myself, Rhete, and John will also be posting text versions of our Game of the Year lists with probably some extra bips and bops we don't talk about on the podcast, so it's kinda like DVD bonus features, and you all love those, right?

At any rate, thanks for your patience and your continued listening and support! It's been fun as hell getting this thing off the ground this year and I'm glad people seem to be enjoying it as much as they are.

Giant Bomb forums moderator (and star of his very own Flappy Bird clone game) MooseyMcMan joins the Socks Crew this episode and brings some tall tales of the latest Call of Duty and some fun go-karting action. Meanwhile, Polly just can't seem to bring herself ot leave the basement, Rhete's fighting a war of his own, and John still can't get enough self-imposed punishment in his videogaming!

Don't forget to tune in later this week for Episode 7.2, where we'll be taking a long hard look at the Metal Gear Solid series. It's guaranteed to be our most straightforward and understandable discussion EVER!

Boss Dungeon consists of a great group of content creators whose work I've enjoyed for a while and they were kind enough to bring me aboard until I sneak the words "poop" and "fart" by our editor too many times.
