Game of the Year Listener Submissions Information
December 2nd, 20XX
(This IS a repost from the previous post, so nothing has changed. Just a reminder.)
As you know, we're big on end of the year lists here at SMPS, and we're always eager for you to get in on the action, especially when it comes time for our end of the year festivities! Those of you that have done this before know what's up, but for anyone new looking to contribute simply follow the below instructions!
1. Pick yourself three games you liked this year. They don't have to have been released this year! If you played it this year and enjoyed it then it's fair game. On your list it goes!
2. Write a small blurb about each game. One or two sentences should suffice, but give us some words to go along with each game!
3. Email your submission to podcast [at-sign] socksmakepeoplesexy.net BY NOON ON DECEMBER 13TH. We'll be recording the Game of the Year episodes on the evening of December 13th so this is pretty easy to understand.
4. For those of you who would like to read your own lists the same rules as above apply. Three games, three blurbs, read it out, sing it out, whatever you wanna do however you want! Create an .mp3 file, attach it to your email and just send it to the above email address.
Easy as pie, right? You got just a little under a month to get those final decisions in, and we'll be doing reminders on the site in the meantime. As always, we can't wait to hear what games you enjoyed the most! So, thanks in advance for helping out!

This time around, Rhete ACTUALLY DID NOT WATCH ANY ANIME (yes, I am still VERY SHOCKED), but he did find some time for the Xenoblade 2 expansion, Polly's gone completely off the deep end and we're not even sure what the hell's up with the things she's doing, and John embarked on and finished a three-year quest in a month!

SnS on the 2010s: Top Games of the Decade FINALE!
July 28th, 20XX
HUGE post incoming, but we got all your Game of the Decade finale fun stuff right here!
(TECHNICAL NOTE: There was a slight clerical error when calculating DuckTales Remastered's score, which brought the game up into the top 100, so the top 100-60 entries needed to be shifted to reflect this change and don't properly align with the podcast by one spot. Apologies for this error! It's a lot of data, folks!)
This final part of the main list is so full of celebration and love of fantastic videogames that it had to be split into three separate portions so you don't hurt yourself, but feast all you like! It's all there! Enjoy each and every meticulously-selected word of praise!
Game of the Decade FINALE! Run Time: 6:14:39 / File Size: 172.2MB Opening Theme: "We Are The Only Ones That Love You" by Taylor
Well...it certainly took us long enough, but I think we made up it with this mammoth of an episode! We spend just over six hours revealing, celebrating, and discussing the top 99 games of the decade as voted by the Sliders n Socks forums and Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net community. You'll laugh, you'll hurl, you'll cry, but you'll also hopefully discover some new favorites of your own to love as well!
And FINALLY, the YouTube archive is available along with on-screen chat reactions and pretty banners if you want that experience too!
A HUGE thanks to everybody that made this happen. Especially to all of our list makers without whom this list would not exist. So, to Rhete, John, Ghosty, natedashnite, Zeloz, eatthepen, AustinCHowe, Carmichael Micaalus, LastZimOnEarth, TenguGemini, FreezingInferno, Pauncho Smith, Rainiac, lieronet, Psychic_Heist, Atamine634, Beepner, jetstorm4, Peaches the Rayven, Remnant, DoorCurtain, and Iffy, a very huge thank you for helping create the most ambitious and over-the-top community project this site's ever done.
And now, we rest! Catch y'all in a bit!

Polly Interviews International Cosplayer Trickssi
July 22nd, 20XX
Technical Note: A recent Windows Update borked Polly's sound drivers entirely, resulting in her mic's audio being a bit blown out during this episode. Her audio has been salvaged as best a possible and our guest's audio is 100% fine. Apologies to both our listeners and Trickssi.
We got a very special and big ol chunky one-on-one episode of The Sockscast for ya today as Polly welcomes international cosplayer,
formal ball hostess, and owner of the Cosplayer Survivor Support Network, Trickssi. In this almost three hours of complecte awesomeness
they cover everything from a whole slew of facets relating to cosplay to the responsibilities conventions should take to keep their attendees safe and so, so, soooooo much more! This interview/chat was an absolute delight and we hope you enjoy it as well.
SPOILER WARNING FOR AI: The Somnium Files: From around 2:18-2:25 we delve into a bit of spoilers for the late-game, so a word of warning ahead of time about that.

Sockscast Episode 120 Run Time: 2:45:02 / File Size: 76.4MB Opening Theme: "We Are The Only Ones That Love You" by Taylor
Hey you! It's been a while! Sorry we didn't stop by more often but we were busy being responsible and making sure the
podcast feed remained virus-free! You understand, right? Anyway, we're back and swinging harder than ever as Polly returns
to the world of Fata Morgana, Rhete finally lands himself a job defending all of Crossbell, and John just....really ends this
episode on a fucking note, lemme tell ya, holy shit...
With The Awful Affliction hopefully behind us, we're gonna be real daring and hope that announcing that the Game of the
Decade finale will air live on Sunday, July 26th beginning around 5:00PM Eastern doesn't bite us in the ass. And of course,
the site version of the list will go up at the same time the archive of the live podcast does, so nobody'll be missing out!
After swimming through the muck of what can easily be considered Manson's most dreadful work last episode, good pal and Sockscast regular Beepner joins us to stupidly dive head first into what I'll call a first attempt at a comeback album with The High End of Low.
And of course a reminder that we're gonna do our best to get the Games of the Decade Finale podcast done and the list for the site posted this weekend, but it's going to depend on where we're at illness-wise. As always, watch the frontpage here or our keep an eye on our twitter for updates! Thanks again for your patience!

Addressing The Tone of Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net's Early Years
June 29th, 20XX
So, since we're gonna be waiting at least a week to handle the Games of the Decade finale due to illness (see the post below this one), I figured I'd go ahead and post a little something I've been meaning to address for a while.
For those that have been around Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net since the beginning in 2005, most or all of this will be of no surprise, but just in case you're someone new or who has never heard me reiterate the points below on the podcast in the past (which, I have a few times), I just want it out there so no one ever feels caught off guard by it.
When I started SMPS in 2005, the language and tone used on the site was very outwardly edgy. I used a good number of homophobic and ableist slurs in my articles and reviews at the time, from probably 2005 through around 2011. And even though I was trans (though I was not "out" online until 2014), there were a good number of homophobic jokes that made their way into my writing or writing I accepted from guests who wrote for the site as well as ableist language I'm not very proud of.
I own that shit, I said that shit, I approved that shit. My midnset at the time of "I'm LGBT too, so it's not harmful," isn't an excuse. You can't be that "hero" trying to reclaim hurtful words for yourself, because even if it's working for you, it probably isn't for the people that see you saying those things.
That reality check came for me in 2011-2012 (you'll have to forgive me, those two years are a bit of a blur for heavy personal reasons) when a High School aged fan wrote to me explaining that my site was a bright point of their day. They loved reading the reviews and articles and it helped get them through some hard times. Their issue however, was how often they'd see the f-slur thrown around so freely in my writings. It hurt. It's a word that, as a fellow queer person, they had to see and hear every day at school. And there was SMPS. A part of this person's day that they wanted to take time to enjoy. There it was giving a megaphone to the same hurtful language they used that site to get away from.
I promised them then and there that they'd never see that language in my or any guest writing again. It'd never be heard from me again, on my site or in private. A filter has been set up for years that censors out as many of the f-slurs originally found on ALL of the site's original writings, and I've personally re-written a small number of passages here and there over the years to reflect my stance since then.
There's no excuse for the site's past tone. There's no, "Oh it was a different time," or "I was just immature," or "I'm going to reclaim these hurtful words." It's bullshit. It's edginess for the sake of edginess and it hurt people, and I'm truly, truly sorry for that.
Socksmakepeoplesexy.Net is one of the finest, most outwardly accepting, loving, and very openly queer communities I have ever been a part of. And considering where I started this in 2005, I'm proud to say that the changes that have been made are why this community is here today. You can't have a community that has lasted and thrived this long sustained by ediginess and hateful, hurtful language. SMPS.Net's origins aren't pretty, I'm not proud of them, and I've worked and will continue to work to see that it stays the outwardly accepting, loving, and very opnely queer community that it has become.
That said, if you're new and reading any of this for the first time makes you uncomfortable either about me or in our community, then I 100% completley understand. Nobody should be made feel uncomfortable around any community or person for any reason. That's on me, not you.
If you read through all this, I appreciate it and hope we can all continue moving forward, learning, and bettering ourselves as best we can by our own efforts and with the help of others.

SnS on the 2010s: Top Games of the Decade Finale Delayed
June 28th, 20XX
Unfortunately, the Game of the Decade finale that was set to roll out this evening is going to have to be delayed until next weekend,
July 5th and 5:00PM EDT. (Note: Given the situation, this date and time are still subject to change however, so please watch this space or follow the site's twitter for future updates.)
For the last few days, one of our hosts has been pretty sick, and their condition hasn't gotten better
to the point where we feel they'd be able to enjoy the celebration of videogames with us, so rather than pushing someone through
a 3-4 hour podcast in that condition, we're moving the final reveal to next weekend.
I know it sucks to have to wait for this kinda thing, but it's just not fun if one of us just isn't able to enjoy everything properly
with the rest of us, so I hope there's no hard feelings having to wait another week before we can go down the final results with
y'all.
Again, sorry to have to bail last minute, but I promise the finale is going to be rad! Thanks for your understanding.

(whatever way that may be!) while we serve up our latest batch of hot Sockscast content with Rhete returning to Midgar after a 23 year vacation from the ol place, Polly's out here hunting all the dinosaurs, and John's Tales of Vesperia journey finally comes to a satisfying end.
Do you love your guns, god, and government? Well then have we got the podcast for you! In this episode of God is in the Podcast,
we're joined by Mellie (@SweetsParade on Twitter) to discuss Manson's post-Columbine
release, Holy Wood (In The Shadow of the Valley of Death) and the ways in which its messages are still vital and relevant nearly
twenty years later.
Also, as a heads up, we will likely be announcing a final date to have your Games of the Decade lists submitted on the next
Sockscast. You can take care of all that over here if
you're looking at participating.

John's decided to strap on some boxing gloves and take on the entirety of the WVBA even if it kills him, Polly's only got OneShot to save the world, Rhete's not giving up until he sees the end of the Impossible Lair, and Thom decided to play a game whose name currently describes all our situations, Forever Home!
Be sure to stick around for the end of the episode where Jetstorm4 gives us a bit of a post-mortem on the creation of his latest release, Silus!
This one has been a long time in the making, but it's finally here!
Jetstorm4 has officially released his magnum-opus of an
RPG, Silus for your consumption! It's been a pleasure seeing this game come together and it's going to be

God is in The Podcast Episode IV:
Mechanical Animals
March 25th, 20XX
Socksmakepeoplesexy pal, Jetstorm4 joins myself and Taylor today as we take on Marilyn Manson's most direct and
straightforward jump into the mainstream, Mechanical Animals. The band traded in their dirty and dingy industrial
rock aesthetic and sonics for a more slick and over-produced 90's take on 70's glam rock and today we're gonna
discuss how we think that turned out.

We got you all sorted with a hot new episode of The Sockscast! This time around, John's indulging in a Suikoden visual novel, but it's apparently got a cute vampire girl that's tired, so we think it's rad, Rhete's Fire Emblem journey comes to...an end of some sort, and Polly's exploring the remnants of a dead civilization and doesn't mind staying because she likes what they've done with the place. There's also a weird air or revisiting the past this episode that was completely unplanned!
Also, in two weeks we'll be recording our Top 10 Anime of the Decade list episode! If you'd like to contribute to this list, it's the same way we do Game of the Year submissions.
Draft up a list of your top 3 anime of the decade (2010-2019) and write a little bit about each one. Then send that off to podcast[at-sign]socksmakepeoplesexy.net, and we'll read them on the show!

SnS On The 2010s: The Top Games of the Decade
February 4th, 20XX
It's been a hot damn minute since we did one of these huge-ass ridiculous lists, and what better way to bring the ol girl back to the site than to use it to sum up an entire decade of gaming goodness?
We'll keep you updated as the submission deadline approaches and we (read: Rhete) get ready to present the entire thing here!

Sockscast Episode 110 Run Time: 2:32:07 / File Size: 69.6MB Opening Theme: "We Are The Only Ones That Love You" by Taylor
Winter has officially hit Pollyland, at least for a few days, so this episode Polly decided to get a little snug with an anime all about being left out in the cold, and although he's trapped in Perpetual Anime Watching Land right now, Rhete's giving us his sloppy ol' leftovers from four months ago with a unique and comedic VR experience, and something is positively draining all the Life Force right out of John Thyer! What ever could it be?

God is in The Podcast Episode III:
Antichrist Superstar
January 15th, 20XX
The world's most famous videogame streamer in the world, After5, joins Polly and Taylor as we dig into what could very well be considered Marilyn Manson's magnum opus. The iconic 1996 release Antichrist Superstar takes center stage this episode. It's an album that's surely on Polly and Taylors personal top 10 albums of all-time lists, but how does it land 24 years later for a complete Marilyn Manson newbie?

Better late than never, yeah?
