SEGA Genesis Did It Better

DID IT BETTER!
The SNES and Genesis were both amazing consoles. So many classic games overflow
from both libraries and I'd challenge anyone that's not even much of a gamer to dig through
them and not find something to like. Both consoles offered a somewhat different
experience for the gamer. The SNES was backed by solid RPG efforts from Square, excellent
arcade ports, polished graphics and sound,
and Nintendo's first-party titles could be considered nothing less than amazing
at the time. Though things were a little more light-hearted on that side, it's
still one of the greatest consoles to date. The Genesis offered a somewhat edgier
catalog of titles. The games were grittier, there was more attitude, and many of
the truly quirky and innovative classics (Phantasy Star, Gunstar Heroes and
Dynamite Headdy to name just a few) were exclusive to the console.
But it's not all black and white - us vs them. SNES and Genesis did a lot of
the same things as well. Some the SNES did better, others the Genesis did better.
What follows is my perspective. A list of things that, as a gamer, I enjoyed
far more on the Genesis than I did on SNES. Bitch, moan, and complain all you
want. My site, my opinions. (They're right.)
